There's another incredible exhibition going on that I'm proud to say Jason J Kim Oral Design New York is sponsoring. Dorothy Deon's "Lumen et Vita: Splendid Constellationse" is an experience in the visual manifestation of faith and wonder. It is truly exquisite!
It runs from until Feb. 7, 2015 at the BBCN Bank Manhattan Branch located at 16 west 32nd st. New York, NY 10001.
Deon is a visual artist who graduated from Ewha Woman’s University and studied at Fashion Institute of Technology and Art Student League. She had more than 30 solo exhibitions and about 50 group exhibitions around the world. When she was young, she was an accomplished interior designer. But she did not give up her passion for fine arts.
As a devout Christian, she wants to create a glorious vision of God. In her works numerous dots in luminous colors form a series of circles or flowers. Her canvases are covered with the rhythmic movement of blissfully dancing colors and the waves of light spread far and wide. She adds texture and patterns to the surfaces of transparent film by luminous dots of myriad
colors. These small circles are composed of acrylic, sometimes gel, painting liquid, stained glass pigment and glitter. Thus her film “canvas” looks like a gigantic close up of a flower or dark sky filled with twinkling stars.
At the same time, her images of gardens, flowers, starry nights, and breath of life are arranged in 8, 12, 16 pieces of grid. In single or clusters, her images keep consistency of representing the glory and the harmony of the universe. Her biggest subject of life and glory on earth and heaven has been pursued for more than thirty years of her artistic journey.
The works are beautiful and I hope you can find time to visit the exhibit!!
