Happy New Year & Exciting Announcement

Happy New Year!

To Our Valued Clients,

As the new year begins, I reflect on all the incredible work my team and I have been able to accomplish thanks to your patronage and loyalty. It has been a monumental year for both my NY labs and we look forward to continuing to grow along with all of you. As part of that growth, I want to announce an exciting evolution that will allow our teams to do their very best work.

Effective January 2019 Oral Design New York and Jason J. Kim Dental Aesthetics will be consolidated to one location (5 Harbor Park Dr. Port Washington). The two businesses will operate under one name, Jason J. Kim Dental Aesthetics. The Manhattan location will remain open on a limited basis for taking patient custom shades and consults as well as continued education for doctors.

I have been teasing on social media that we have wonderful news to share and I am so happy I can now reveal that recently a major client built a laboratory in their office and has asked me to spend three days a week at their location. This is an incredible opportunity and after much thought, I have agreed to do so and spend the remaining two days a week in Port Washington.

It's important to me that you understand this is not a change that will cause you any unnecessary issues, as my time was previously divided between my Manhattan laboratory and Port Washington laboratory, and the only difference now is where I am located in Manhattan. Some of my Oral Design technicians had been previously transitioned to the Port Washington location.

I will still own the lab and continue to rely on the expertise and abilities of Calvin Mun CDT (Lab Manager and Technical Liaison), Marcello Allegra (Director of Sales, Marketing and Education) and Tom Muscarello (CFO and Lab Operations) as I have for the last 8 years. My team is most important to me and they continue to be the nucleus of the highest professionalism and quality you have come to expect.

I write this letter because I want you to be part of the excitement that comes with this evolution of our labs, while also reassuring you that we will continue to provide the best results for you and your patients and we will continue to be a leader in the industry with regards to function and aesthetics!

We have much to look forward to in 2019 as a result of this great news and I can't wait to see what's in store!

Once again thank you for your continued loyalty.

Warmest Regards,

Jason J. Kim, CDT

The opening reception will be held on Monday August 6th, 5:00pm – 7:00pm with an Artist Talk starting at 5:30pm

Tai Hwa Goh’s recent work attempts to delineate the boundary between the inner and outer realms of the body. She is specifically interested in revealing the body’s experience through sense perception. Her aim is to expand the boundaries of perception to whole body, which she believes to be the domain of basic human experience. For Goh, the limitation of the corporeal is also the starting point to explore the body’s vulnerability and make an inquiry into the nature of human existence. She explores the opaque and ambiguous world between oblivion and memory, and the dichotomy between the resilient, yet vulnerable body and the recoverable, rather strong selfness. By transmitting her own experience using these images and spatial structure, she is experimenting with cognitive expansion and probing the shared domain of human experience, where similarity of images begins to form a symbolical linguistic system.

Tai Hwa Goh creates installation that blur the definition between printmaking and sculpture. Her highly labor-intensive creations showcase the technical skills she has to create three-dimensional forms utilizing the traditional printmaking methods. Her works evokes biological forms and landscape, reflecting on the accumulation of memory and experience.

Born in South Korea, Tai Hwa Goh received her Bachelor’s degree from Seoul National University and her Master’s degree from the University of Maryland. Her work has been shown at various prominent institutions and art events in New York and New Jersey such as International Print Center New York, DUMBO Art Festival, Islip Museum, William Paterson University, AIR Gallery, and Snug Harbor Center for the Art. She had an installation show at Sunroom Project Space at Wave Hill and BRIC. Her list of awards includes but are not limited to Lower East Side Print Shop, Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, National Endowments for the Arts, Guttenberg Art, Emerge 11 and Vermont Studio Center. She was the Artist-in-Residence at the Museum of Arts and Design’s Artist Studios Program in 2017, and the Gold Award winner of AHL Foundation’s AHL-T&W Foundation Contemporary Visual Art Awards 2017.

This commissioned exhibition is a part of AHL Foundation’s Art in the Workplace Program, which exhibits contemporary artwork in work environments to create greater exposure for talented artists, while fostering easier access and support for the arts within the business community. The Art in the Workplace program is presented in collaboration with Jason J. Kim Dental Aesthetics.
