Jeff Koons and The Jason Kim Family!

JK9.jpg

I was so excited to finally get to see the highly publicized Jeff Koons exhibit at the Whitney Museum this weekend. Even better - I got to do it along with friends, family and colleagues!

I decided to organize an outing with members of the Jason J Kim Dental Aesthetics and Jason J Kim Oral Design NY family to join my actual family for a tour of the Jeff Koons: A Retrospective Exhibition - It wanted to thank all my colleagues for all their hard work and dedication. NYC offers such a wonderful opportunity to see the works of some of the most influential artists out there today.

What an interesting exhibition. I recommend anyone in the NYC area take time to walk through it. It has so much joy and you can't help but smile throughout the entire exhibit but it also gets you thinking about art as a marketplace.

Much thanks also to our tour guides provided by the AHL Foundation! Sun You  led our Korean speaking group. She is an accomplished artist herself with work in galleries and museums internationally. Kyunghee Pyun, Ph.D, led our English speaking group. She's an assistant professor at State University of New York, Fashion Institute of Technology and has also worked as a visiting assistant professor in the department of history of art and design at Pratt Institute, in Brooklyn.

Sneak Peek: Stylist Session at Ted Baker & Photoshoot!

I am so excited to finally reveal some behind the scenes footage from my recent photoshoot with acclaimed photographer Kevin Scanlon

I am gearing up to relaunch my website with some new images of clients and their gorgeous smiles. In the days leading up to the big shoot, NYC stylist to the stars, Pilar Steinborn, met with me at Ted Baker to choose the many looks that would be worn by both myself and my beautiful models.

We had cameras follow us through the entire process and now you can see for yourself all the work that goes into perfecting the look of a major shoot!

Stay tuned, I'll have more videos for you from the big day and more interviews with my clients about their new smiles, and how they felt showing them off on camera!

Check out moving pictures below!

A Heartfelt Thank You!!

The entire crew!

The entire crew!

I had the wonderful opportunity this past weekend to work with incredible people and spend time with about a dozen of my patients, colleagues and even family for a big photo shoot for everything Jason J Kim Oral Design New York!

I don't want to reveal too much yet as we will be unveiling some truly exquisite images and videos of the shoot in a gorgeous NYC sky scraper in the coming months both on my blog, facebook and a soon to be launched new website! It's such an exciting time for the entire Jason J Kim Oral Design New York team and for the Jason J Kim Dental Aesthetics Lab as well.

I just want to take this opportunity to thank everyone behind the scenes and in front of the cameras for all the hard work they put into the shoot both the months leading up to it and the day of.

I'll start by thanking celebrity photographer Kevin Scanlon. A true class act. His art is so inspiring - just take a look at his impressive body of work on his website HERE. It was an honor to have him capture images of the smiles I've created over the years. From one artist to another, both who pride themselves on capturing the essence of a person through their work, I am indebted to you.

A quick touch up!

Thank you to stylist Pilar Steinborn, who created the perfect looks for the many models on hand in several different settings. No matter what room we were in or what color palate was in the backdrop, she made sure everyone looked their best to help bring those smiles to life. Pilar's body of work is also something to marvel, which you can see on her website HERE, and it's no wonder that the colors and the structure of each ensemble she chose was perfect. I am also forever grateful to her for introducing me to the Ted Baker clothing line. The designer's gorgeous pieces became the frame for my dental work in this shoot and I couldn't be happier. I am a fan and am excited to continue working with the label on future projects and appearances.

Next I want to thank the Hair and Makeup team who worked tirelessly on all the models for hours to create varying looks for each setting. Lead artist Betsy Reyes has worked in the business of television hair and makeup for years.

Her work is seen all over the shows you turn on from MTV to VH1 to some of your favorite celebrity red carpet appearances. Take a look at what she's accomplished on her website HERE.

She and her team Marissa MasellaDanielle Castro, and Shannon Weldon never took a break and when finished with their creations were alway by the crew's side to primp and fix every last details. The smiles of my patients were always looking their very best thanks to them. I know many of my patients say they will be calling Betsy for her expertise for future events, and you should as well!

Next let me thank my staff members who were there. First, to Danel Burdo my business director who had a vision for this day and made it a reality. Without her this would never have happened.

She enlisted the help of my social media production team Wes Warren and Shawna Ryan and together they organized the day from the photographer, to the location, to the stylist, hair and makeup, to the models, and so much more. She is an invaluable member of my organization and I am so lucky to have her working by my side. Thank you also to Dr. Allen Motola and Lisa Motola for the use of their venue and opening up their home to us

And finally, thank you to my gorgeous models: Bridgett Borg, Arielle Burdo, Heather Kim, Lena Nowmos, Robert Saporiti, Englebert and Yuliana Jun, Cynthia and Robert Knakal! These patients are chapters in the history of my work as a Master Ceramist. Through them I see why there is nothing else in the world I would want to do than create beautiful smiles.

The way they all lit up at the shoot. The way they told our cameras that their new smiles changed not just the way they felt about themselves physically, but even had an emotional impact. All of this brings me pause.

I am grateful every day to be in this field, and it means the world to know they are grateful as well.

I am so anxious to show you everything we captured!!

A Model, A Master Ceramist & A Celebrity Stylist at Ted Baker

Last week I had the wonderful opportunity to meet with a celebrity stylist at the ultra hip Ted Baker store in the Meatpacking District!

The reason for the visit was to get ready for a big photo shoot we have planned later this month for our soon to be revamped website.

Stylist Pilar Steinborn chose a number of chic looks for the shoot that range from casual daytime to classic evening wear.

What's wonderful about Pilar is her ability to bring out your own personality through the clothes she chooses. I told her I felt like it's similar to the way I think about the work I do as a Master Ceramist, when trying to create the smile for my clients that showcases their best selves!

Also on hand was a client of mine who happens to be a professional model, Bridgette. She will be at our shoot as well and we wanted to get her some great looks!

It was such a pleasure to mix Bridgette's gorgeous smile with the high end clothes Ted Baker creates himself.

The TED Baker store in the MP district of NYC is ultra chic! It's so creative and modern! The decorations are so eclectic and the walls are from the original meatpacking plant that once stood there! If you have a chance to check it out on Little West 12th Street you, absolutely should!

I was quite impressed with all the looks there and will definitely be making Ted Baker a top designer in my closet!

We had cameras shooting our entire experience and will soon have a video up on my YouTube site.

When you leave the store this happy, you know you've come to the right place!
