Art in The Workplace

Last Monday's art event, Art in the Workplace - Artist Talk, at our sister company on Long Island was a real treat! We held an art reception for one of my favorite Korean artists Kim Kyung Han.

Han gave an in-depth lecture about some of his own pieces that were on site, and about his public works at large. He has participated in more than 200 shows internationally and having him take the time to speak at our space was a true honor.

It's always so enlightening to have the creator explain his vision. The same can be said for the process of working with your laboratory partners when creating the most beautiful smile possible. You have to learn how to express your vision, so the outcome is translated seamlessly.

Again, check out his website with many of his public and exhibition works HERE, they are really spectacular.

And for my Korean friends and colleagues, check out the article about the event on Naver Here

I think our sister company is not only doing great work, but looking great as well! Having an artist's inspiration always helps! Check out our Long Island location on Facebook HERE and follow them!

Art & Jason J Kim Dental Aesthetics

As you all know our sister company Jason J Kim Dental Aesthetics is located on Long Island in Port Washington. You'll notice that I often compare the method of an artist to the work master ceramists do in creating a beautiful smile. Aesthetics are as important to me as the science in my field. It is for that reason I am excited our sister company will be hosting a reception for the opening of the AHL art exhibit  Intriguing Imagination, featuring the works of Kyung Han Kim. The reception will take place at our LI location at 5 Harbor Park Drive on Monday December 9th from 5:30pm - 7pm.

The AHL Foundation is a non-profit that supports Korean artists living in the United States and promotes their work.

I want to give a big thank you once again to my guest speaker last week, Dr. Ali Saad. It was a pleasure having him give a lecture on Aesthetic Evaluation & Functional Diagnosis. Here's a picture of me, Dr. Ali Saad and his brother and dentist Mohammed Saad.

Aesthetic Evaluation & Functional Diagnosis (Part 2)

Back in October I held part 1 of Aesthetic Evaluation & Functional Diagnosis where I taught students how to identify keys to facial and dental analysis. This week on November 8th, I will present part 2, where we will discuss communication steps between clinician and laboratory, to impart one's vision with diagnostic wax ups and composite mock ups. To register e-mail Nuree Kwon at: nkwon@jjkda.com

I am looking forward to welcoming a guest speaker for this part of the course! Dr. Ali Saad will join me to discuss case presentation techniques.

Dr. Saad is a full time cosmetic dentist in Birmingham Michigan. Dr. Saad currently serves as the official dentist for the Miss Michigan and Miss Michigan Teen USA pageants. In addition to practicing as a cosmetic dentist, he has written and published five books (www.dentalboardbusters.com) on the subject of the national dental boards. Dental Board Busters are the leading study guides for both dental and dental hygiene students who are pursuing board certification.
